Material Warranty – Membrane Coating System

Sunbond Pty Ltd hereby warrants that Sunbond Coating products will retain its integrity and not peel, chip, crack or corrode as a result of faulty manufacture for a period of 10 years from the date of application. The surface is both prepared and coated in accordance with the instructions provided by Sunbond Coatings Pty Ltd.

Tiled Roof Surface:

  1. Ensure the entire area is free of loose or missing bedding, damaged tiles, defective valley irons and moss/lichen.
  2. Make all necessary repairs, replace tile, rebed and repoint all ridge capping with a flexible pointing. We recommend Westflex – Star pointing.
  3. Clean the surface using a high pressure cleaner at a minimum of 3000psi to remove all dust, dirt, chalk, fungus, algae, deposits and any other contamination.
  4. Seal the surface with Sunbond Cement Tile Primer, Cement Tile Sealer or Old Tile Sealer.
  5. 1st Coat of Sunbond Roof Membrane is applied at a rate of 5-6m2/L
  6. 2nd Coat of Sunbond Roof Membrane is applied at a rate of 5-6m2/L

Metal Roof Surface:

  1. Clean using a high pressure cleaner at a minimum of 3000psi to remove all dust, dirt, oil, grease, and other contaminants. Degrease new galvanised iron.
  2. Rust affected areas are converted and suitably primed. Any rusty screws are replaced and suitably primed. Ensure surface is sound and clean.
  3. Prime the surface using Sunbond Glav Iron Primer, and a leave 24 hour dry time.
  4. 1st Coat of Sunbond Roof Membrane is applied at a rate of 5-6m2/L
  5. 2nd Coat of Sunbond Roof Membrane is applied at a rate of 5-6m2/L

Sunbond Pty Ltd will not be liable for any loss, damage or costs wholly or partly caused by the following:

  1. Failure of previous coatings supporting the new coatings.
  2. Damage caused by movement, cracking, peeling, flaking, lifting failure or other deterioration of substrate.
  3. Negligence by the Applicator, recipient, purchaser or any other associated person.
  4. Damage caused through hydrostatic pressure or entrapped moisture.
  5. Damage caused through fair wear and tear.
  6. Damage caused through faulty construction or design of premises.
  7. Damage caused by maltreatment, such as mechanical damage.
  8. Damage caused by cleaning agents/chemicals or cleaning methods.
  9. Failure to maintain surface. Light annual clean recommended.
  10. Without limitation any other cause outside the reasonable control of Sunbond Pty Ltd.

Where Sunbond Pty Ltd determines that the Sunbond product is faulty, Sunbond will make available all coating materials required to reinstate the coating system.
